Playing in the Water

Okay Dad is not really playing in the water with us, but it sure is a cute picture of him and Kynlee.

When our family was all together this month we headed to the lake to play in the water.
Pockets sure loves to give kisses, but Megan is not so sure about that.

Oh looks like he got her!!
 Sisters are the best!!!

Some of us got a little more dirty than others.
We had fun taking a break to play and spend time together. I sure love my family!

Cousins!!

Kynlee is so lucky to have so many great cousins, and one in particular lives only 5 minutes away.
Alex LOVES Kynlee so much!!!!
He gets excited to say HI! to her when he sees her, and he likes to hold her and even rock her if she is crying. He also gets blankets and pacifiers for her if she is ever in need of them. (Ok I have to admit sometimes he sucks on the pacifier himself)

Here he is helping her rock in her swing, although it might be more accurate to say he is helping her experience a mock earthquake.

But Kynlee is nice, and she sleeps through the whole thing.

1 Month!!!

Guess who is 1 Month old!!!! I can't believe it, probably because she is still a tiny little thing. We love her so much, and she truly is such a bright spot in our lives.

Mom!!!

My sweet Mother passed away on Aug. 14th with most of her family at her side. I know it is better that she is no longer in pain, but I will miss her. She was one of my best friends and a truly amazing person. I have never met anyone so talented, and so willing to share her talents with others.

This is the beautiful quilt that my Mom made for my  sweet baby girl. The last one of hundreds that she made. Even though she was sick she was determined to make it so that Kynlee would have a homemade quilt from Grandma. I will cherish it forever.

I am so grateful that I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, and that I know that I will be with my sweet Mother again. I keep thinking of the quote, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." I will cry many more times, but I can also smile when I think of the sweet memories with my Mom. And while it is hard to have her gone, the beautiful example of her life gives me something to work towards. I will miss you Mom!!!

We sure love our cute little girl. She currently has night and day mixed up, so mommy and daddy are very tired most of the time, but her cuteness makes up for it.

One week old!!

I know these pics are a little late, but I still want to share them. Kynlee hated her first bath, and all the ones since then as well. Actually she just hates having her clothes off.

And here she is at one week old!! She is so cute.

She's Here!!

So it all started on Sunday July 22nd, at about 6:00 in the morning. I was having contractions, but I thought they were just braxton hicks contractions. By eight they were pretty consistent and starting to get painful.  We tried to stay at home as long as possible, but we also didn't want to cut it too close. Can you tell we are new at this? We headed to the hospital around 2:30, where I was disappointed to find out I was only dilated to a 4.5. But pretty soon I was at a 6, then 8, and after what I would definitely say was the most painful experience of my life little Kynlee came out at 7:44 PM. She was 7lbs 2oz, and 18.5 inches long, and as cute as can be. The whole experience is truly a miracle, but I have to say it was quite overwhelming to be in so much pain, and then have this screaming baby put on my stomach. I know it is good for them to cry after they are born, but I felt so bad that I couldn't get her to stop. She is such a sweetheart though, and Carson and I are so blessed to have her as part of our family. Unfortunately we had to stay at the hospital for 2 nights because Kynlee had swallowed lots of meconium so she kept throwing up black stuff. The nurses finally sucked out her stomach the 2nd night, and I was surprised at how much black stuff they got out. Carson was so great through everything, he encouraged me the whole time, and considering the fact that he was practically pacing the room the first night, he endured the stay rather well. We were very ready to go home on Tuesday, and since that was my actual due date, I was glad that we were leaving rather than arriving at the hospital.

We sure love this cute little girl!!

All ready to go home!! Carson is such a cute Daddy.
