Happy Birthday Kynlee!!

Kynlee turned 2 this week!!! We love her so much, and I can't believe she has been in our family for 2 whole years. Even though we had a fun party for her here in my hospital room, I felt like the worst mom ever because I couldn't make her a cake, or do fun things around the house to make her birthday special. But I guess I don't remember my 2nd birthday, so chances are she won't remember hers either.

Kynlee found the pacifiers that we got for the boys, and she just had to try one of them out.

We couldn't really light the candles on Kynlee's cupcake, but it didn't really matter because she started eating the cupcake before we even finished singing.

Kynlee modeling the scarf from Megan and Andrew.
Opening her present from Stacy and Jeremy. She had figured out by the end of the visit that the celebration was for her, and she kept saying, "Happy Day!"
We are so glad that everyone close came to visit us, and celebrate Kynlee's birthday with us. We are truly blessed.
Happy Birthday Kynlee, we love you!!!

34 Weeks!

I made it to 34 weeks. Unfortunately I am in the hospital until these babies pop out. I wouldn't mind it so much, but there are no signs that these babes are coming any time soon. So here I sit with a sore bum from being in the crack of the hospital bed all day waiting for something to happen. I am only two days shy of 35 weeks now and my Dr. calls me the little engine that could. Hopefully the longer I endure sitting here, the less time we will spend in the NICU after the babies are born. Wish me luck!!!

Happy 4th of July!

I know I am late with this post, but better late than never. We had a fun 4th of July this year. We made firework cookies the day before, and then we started the holiday with the parade in town.

Kynlee thought she was brave enough to try out these bounce houses at the park after the parade, but once she got in with the other kids she wanted out.

She did like going down the slide with Payton though.
After the parade Carson and I decided on a whim that we would risk heading to Moab for the Matheson famimly reunion. Everyone thought we were crazy for making the trip, but I wasn't planning on having the babies that weekend anyway. Besides, we know Kynlee wouldn't have wanted to miss out on this chance to play in the dirt, and drink yellow juice with Grandpa Dan.
There were all sorts of fun stations set up at the reunion for everyone to try.

This is all the guys headed to go pick up a broken down truck and move it over a few feet. Pretty Impressive.

 Hanging with Grandpa Dan!

Luckily I didn't pop the babies out that weekend, and we got to have one last trip to Moab to hang with family before the babes come.

Summer Fun!

We got Kynlee a little pool to play in this summer, and while she likes it, she likes it even better when there are cousins to play in it with her.

Fish Tales

Carson has had a rough year for fishing. Pretty much he hasn't caught any fish for a looooooong time. But the other day we headed to Newcastle Reservior and he caught his first fish of the year. He was sooooo excited!!! Kynlee went home muddy and wet, so naturally she had a really fun time too.

Me and the babes...

So apparently taking a picture every two weeks is really hard to do, but here is my rapidly growing belly.

  • 19 weeks: feeling great and craving Chinese food (although you could probably say that I crave Chinese food all of the time). We got cribs and a rocking chair for the nursery, so things are starting to come together.
  • 21 weeks: I am working on a cute blessing dress for the little girl (I was way surprised how good it turned out).
  • 23 weeks: feeling a bit selfconsious about my size for only being 23 weeks, but still feeling great, and I am still able to ride our stationary bike and go for walks with Kynlee everyday.  Craving Pizza.

  • 25 weeks: Still feeling pretty good, only occasional back pain when I get up. cravings.... Um everything. Lunch goes something like this: Hmm what do I want for lunch? I know a peach, no wait grilled cheese, or granola... no scrambled eggs, or chips and salsa, wait no alfredo.... this usually leads to me snacking on lots of things until I feel overly full.
  • 27 weeeks: Starting to feel more uncomfortable, probably because my stomach is as hard as a rock after I eat anything. I was still able to go camping with Carson and Kynlee, so things are still really good.
  • 30 weeks: Just yesterday I hit 30 weeks, and I am not going to lie, I am pretty happy with myself to have made it this far. My stomach is hard as a rock most of the time, and at our ultrasound yesterday the Dr showed us that the little girls head is waaaay low, which would explain why I go to bed with bladder pain every night. I cant really bend at all because of the giant watermelon attached to me, which also makes sleeping at night rather uncomfortable (or that could be the fact that I have to get up almost every hour to pee).Luckily I have only gotten heartburn a handful of times. I am very grateful that I have not been put on bedrest, and that I am still able to do most things.

The babes all weigh between 2.5 and 3 lbs which is pretty good, but we are hoping they can pack on a little more weight in the next few weeks. I am also hoping I can make it a few more weeks because things are getting really squished in there. The average for triplets to come is between 32 and 33 weeks, so naturally we are aiming for at least 34 weeks.

Carson and I both admitted that now that we are at 30 weeks, we are both really nervous about the babies actually coming. We really need to get that nursery put together!!! I never thought my family would double from 3 to 6 so fast, but ready or not soon they will be coming.

Camping at Yankee Meadows

My view on Saturday morning!!

Carson took us camping over the weekend. We found some really nice camping spots that we want to try out in the future. I am so lucky to have this guy in my life. He works 11 hours a day, then takes his masters classes at night, but he still manages to find time to spend with Kyn and I. We would be lost without him.

Memorial Day Weekend

Carson and I got to go to Moab for Memorial Day weekend. We spent our time hiking, playing games, and hanging out with family.

Newspaper rock in Needles.
 Man I love these cuties!

Cody and Sam made the long drive from Oregon to see us.
We also hiked to some other Indial ruins. Carson was the only one skilled enough to climb up to the ruin. I was afraid he was going to rip the seat out of his pants in some of his maneuvers.

This is what Kynlee looked like after we left her with Grandpa Dan for 20 min. There was also an incident with half a can of Mt. Dew at 9:00 at night. I have learned it is best to only leave my kids with Grandparents when we are leaving for a while, and they will have to deal with any messes or late night consequences.
We also got to see a little bit of Papa Joe and Grandma Ree, and all the beautiful improvements that Marie has made to their house.

It sure was a fun weekend, and I am so glad we got to go, because life is looking pretty crazy for the future, and I am not sure when we will make it back again. I love visiting family.

Pinterest Challenge #3

Today is the day to report on our 3rd Pinterest challenge.

I did not do as well on this challenge as I would have liked to. I had a few more pins that I wanted to get done but they just didn't happen. I was very productive though so I will still call it a success.

This pin for Blueberry Croissant Puff was amazing, I used blackberries both times because there were no blueberries at the store. It is so yummy that I have actually made it twice in the last two weeks.

This pin for Chicken Egg Rolls was really good too, and I thought they tasted even better the next day as leftovers. I baked mine rather than frying them, and I added a few drops of sesame oil to the mixture, and a blended jalapeno to the sauce. Delicious and a great way to use up the giant head of cabbage my sister gave us.
I got the idea for this activity from this pin. It was super easy to mix up, and made me wonder why I don't try harder to do fun things for baby girl everyday.
Nothing is better than a cute naked baby with bed head. She thought it was more fun painting herself rather than the tub.
I decided to try to learn how to do a waterfall braid from this pin. I am not great at doing hair, and I pretty much do the same two hairstyles all week long, so I wasn't expecting much when I attempted it. However, I was surprised that it looked pretty good after just one attempt, but I didn't know how lopsided it was till I looked at the pictures Carson took later. I will have to work on that.
This recipe was not good!! Maybe it is just my pregnant tastebuds craving sweet things, but I thought these tasted like balls of baking cocoa. After snapping this picture I quickly threw the balls back in the bowl and added a little melted butter and about a half cup of sugar to make a nice no bake cookie mixture. They were much better that way.
I used this pin to make this little dress for Kynlee. Mine turned out a tad small, and not as cute as the picture because I did not have enough red fabric to make the braided collar.
I made two kinds of muffins using this pin that claimed they were like costco muffins. I did a yellow cake mix with a cinnamon walnut mixture on top and they were really good, but next time I will put the mixture in the middle so it doesn't stick to the wrappers. I also did a chocolate mix with chocolate chips, but this one turned out pretty dry (although that could have been the wheat flour I used in the mixture). I would not say they are near the deliciousness of costco muffins.
And lastly I have been working like crazy to clean out our spare bedroom and get the nursery put up before the babies come. I looked thru pinterest for ideas, and combined a few pins to form a simple but cute nursery in my mind. I spent the last week making crib skirts to match the bumpers that we got, and these cute tissue paper pom poms to hang in the corner. I would have liked to have gotten the cribs up and everything in its place for the picture, but since that requires taking the full size bed out of the room I am at the mercy of my sweet hubby to get it all put together. It's not like he is busy with finals and all kinds of outdoor projects or anything. I also have a few cute wall hangings to print out from pinterest, and as soon as I get it all put together I will post pictures.

I didn't really fancy the idea of doing any outfit posts this time since I do not find my large belly all that flattering. The one day I did wear a pinterest inspired outfit, I was waiting for Carson to come home so he could take a picture of me. In the meantime I had to take care of a toddler, cook a few meals, clean a messy house, and then Carson had me go pick up a rotertiller for him on a super windy day. By the end of the day I did not think I looked near as cute as that morning when I got dressed, so no picture. I love doing these challenges though. They make me feel productive, and get me to try things that I have been wanting to try, but always manage to put off.

Happy Pinning!!!
