Our House!!!

Last month we bought a house!!!! But our house needed lots of work. In just 3 weeks the living room went from this...
to this...
to this...
 and finally to this!!!!!
We did  lots of work all over the house. There was yucky wood paneling all over, and ugly brown trim on the windows and closets. Over the last few weeks I have painted until I could no longer grip a brush, sanded drywall till my arms ached, swept and cleaned nooks and crannies till my knees bled. But that is nothing, my sweet hubby did ten times the work I did. He would get up early everyday to work on the house before classes, and he would stop late at night when he got off work to finish things up. He is the hardest worker I know, and I am so lucky to have him. And a big thanks to the friends that helped us with the big projects and helped us move, we couldn't have done it alone.

We love our new house, although I think I will like it even more when we actually finish the bathroom, and when I finish unpacking everything.

In other big news, Carson attended his last undergrad class today!! Now he just has to survive finals and then it's on to graduation next week!!!

9 Months!

This little cutie is nine months old. And when I say little, I do mean little! We went to the Dr. this week and Miss Kynlee hit the 1 percentile mark for weight. I guess someone has to be the smallest. I sure can attest to the fact that great things come in small packages.  She is such a sweet girl and her active curiosity keeps Mom on her toes.

It is the Little Things that Make Me HAPPY!

Yesterday was an epic day people!!! You want to know why??? Well I will tell you. I did 3 loads of laundry... wait for it... in my own washer and dryer!!!! Now this may not seem so monumental to some of you, but it was a first for me. I did not have to load my laundry into the car and take it to my Mom's or my sisters. I did not have to haul my laundry to a laundry room a mile away (because that is how far it feels when you are carrying laundry). When the clothes were not quite dry I did not have to put more quarters in the machine, or spread them all over my apt to finish drying, I just push the button, and like magic it starts again. Life is good!!

I do have to say though that some of the awesomeness wore off today when there was more laundry to be done because baby girl threw up on her sheets and blankets at 2 AM, but it is still awesome.

And on another note, in case you couldn't tell from the above ranting, we finally moved into our house!!!! More posts will come on that soon, and maybe even some pictures if our house ever stops looking like a construction zone.

Happy Wednesday!!! Go do some laundry.

Kynlee's surprise from the Easter Bunny, and a few gifts from Aunt Stacy, thanks so much
She is more interested in the candy than anything else.
Enjoying her waffles
And my little Easter surprise from the best hubby ever.

After our waffles with yummy homemade buttermilk syrup we got to attend a baby blessing for our good friends Then we had a yummy Easter feast with Megan and Andrew and some other friends. I also made a tres leche cake from here that was delicious. What a happy Easter!!!

Farewell Douglas

The annual burning of the Christmas trees has come and gone. We had a blast cooking smore's, enjoying the nice weather we have been having lately, and of course burning our Christmas trees. This year when we choose our tree, Carson decided we should name our tree Douglas. It seemed like a great name for a fir tree so it was agreed, this year our tree would be Douglas. But then we got our tree home, and I realized it was very cruel of us to name our tree Douglas and then take him home and dress him up like a GIRL. Now some of you may have manly Christmas decorations, but mine are not manly, they are very un-manly. So Douglas sat thru the holiday in his beautiful shame. From now on we will be careful to only choose girl names for our trees.

I am the favorite aunt for bringing the beloved marshmallows!

Farewell Douglas, we will miss you.

8 Months

This little monkey is 8 months old and crawling!!!!

She is such a beautiful, sweet, happy little girl. I feel so blessed that I get to be her Mom. I love you Kynlee!

More fun in the Snow!!!

Lift passes are free on Thursdays at Eagle Point, forget classes, we can't pass a deal like that up. This last Thursday was actually only the second time we have gone, but we plan to go a few more time. We couldn't find a babysitter, so Kynlee got to come with us.

Dad letting Kynlee try out his snowboard.
She hasn't got is quite figured out yet.
Well at least she is standing up now, she will be a pro in no time.

Jump! Jump! Jump!

Last weekend we got to go up North to visit family. It was fun to get together with my family, and my aunts. We got to stay together in a large house, and we had a great time visiting and playing cards. We also went shopping and the kids visited a museum, but the best part was visiting the Wairhouse. It is a big trampoline place where we could race, play dodge ball, basketball, and jump into a big foam pit. I did end  up with a bloody lip when Stacy dared me to do a flip and I hit my lip on my knee, but it was still a blast. We had a fun weekend. Too bad Mondays always come around to ruin the fun.

7 Months

Happy 7 Months Kynlee!!! She is still cute as ever!!

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

I sure love this sweet girl. She melts my heart when she smiles, and I love to cuddle with her and give her kisses. Carson and I feel so lucky that we got such a sweet girl. Here she is in the dress that I made for her before she was born. I used a newborn pattern that turned out kind of big, that combined with our tiny girl, at almost seven months it finally fits her!!!

Doesn't she look so cute??

6 Months

This little cutie is 6 months old now. She is such a sweet girl. She can roll over both ways, and though she is not crawling yet, she has the backward scoot down, though that usually ends up with her stuck under the couch. We love you Kynlee!!!

Silly Girl!

This is what my silly girl looked like when I got her out of her crib the other day!! No matter how hard we try to keep her warm, she insists on getting out of her blankets one way or another. And those pajamas she is wearing are 0-3 month, so she really should not be able to fit her whole body thru the neck. We sure love her!!

Happy Birthday Carson!!

Carson had a birthday, and though it was a little bit ago, it is still worth mentioning!!!

This is the manly cake I made for him. It is supposed to be a hunter, but this army guy was the closest I could find.

Happy Birthday Babe! I love you!

A Very Merry Christmas!!!

We had such a great Christmas. We got to spend almost a week in Moab, and it was fun to celebrate Kynlee's first Christmas with everyone.

Grandma Sue reading "The Night Before Christmas"
Carson opening a present on Christmas Eve. I got new Pjs for all of us, and though these are mine, Carson really thought they were for him, hence the cheesy smile in the picture. It was a classic "Christmas Story" moment. (We should have made him put them on)
 Hanging with Grandpa Dan
Kynlee showing off  her new shades

Dad sporting Kynlee's new shades

 Christmas at Papa Joe's

Sporting our new Pjs and our loot with our new pillowcases

Christmas at home, it took her a while, but Kynlee really did open that present mostly by herself

She looks pretty happy with all her new stuff.

It was a bittersweet Christmas. We were so excited for Kynlee's first Christmas, but sad for the first Christmas without my Mom. Some sweet angels pitched in though and provided our family with a Secret Santa box full of presents for everyone (and there are a lot of us). It meant so much to us that they would do that for us to help make this Christmas special. Dad also did an awesome job of making Christmas special, especially for the Grand kids.  Mom would have been proud, although if she knew how good he really is at Christmas shopping, she might have put him in charge years ago. On second thought she probably would have taken his credit card away. We had such a great Christmas!
And now I am sad, just like every year, because Christmas is over. I sit and stare at my beautiful tree, and I don't want to take it down. I am not sick of the Christmas music yet, or the lights. And I hate to think that next Christmas is so far away. Now what is there to look forward to??

 Valentine's day??

Hmmm somehow that doesn't even come close to the special spirit that Christmas brings.
Oh well, until next year. And in the meantime I will enjoy l playing with my sweet baby girl, spending time with my family, and looking forward to warmer weather.

Merry Christmas!!!

Sledding!!

We got to go on a short sledding adventure the other day. In my opinion a short sledding trip is the best kind of sledding trip.

Our little angel
It must be nice to be a kid and get towed back up the hill.
Even Kynlee got to go down a little ways, but I am not sure if she enjoyed it.

And this is random, but guess who spit up in Dad's mouth???

5 Months!!!

She's five months!! She smiles at me all the time, laughs, sleeps well, and is cute as a button. We love her!

Food!!!

Look who is eating cereal now!!!!
Ok eating is probably not the correct term since she really just spits everything back out. She seemed really interested in food when Carson and I would eat, so we thought she would like food. Nope, at least rice cereal is not a winner. I guess we will have to see if she likes other things better in the future. She is so cute!!!!

Swimming!!

We had a stake activity at the aquatic center here the other day. Kynlee had such a good time!! I was way surprised because even though she doesn't hate her baths anymore, she still gives us this look like "what are you doing to me??"  when we put her in. But at the aquatic center she figured out how to splash her hands in the water and she thought that was great. She is such a cutie!!!
