The answer is almost always NO!!!

She still doesn't want to play with the babies all the time, but recently Kynlee does like to play with them every once in a while, and most of the time they enjoy it too...

I am so happy that I have two girls. They are the cutest sisters around. I hope they get along and can be best friends as they grow up together.

9 Months

My little babes are 9 months old, and I wish they would stop growing up so fast.

The Korbinator is my adventurous little guy. He crawls all around the house to see what everyone is doing, and he can pull himself into a standing position. He still loves to eat, and he will eat just about anything. He can also click his tongue. We love him so much.

 Little Emmy Lou is as cute as can be. She still army crawls with her arms and drags her legs behind her, but she gets anywhere she wants to go pretty fast. She uses her toes to push off with which is super cute. She also loves to eat, and will eat almost anything, but she is losing interest in baby food. We love her so much.

 Mr. B-Bop didn't start out quite as mobile as his brother, but he is catching up fast, he has also started to pull himself into a standing position to see what is going on. He has lost all interest in baby food, it is only the good stuff on the table for him. We love him so much.

We sure love these munchkins. I wish they didn't love playing in the bathroom so much, but for some reason it is fascinating in there. I find myself chasing and transporting babies around more and more these days. The babes are still wearing 3-6 month clothes, but we have big plans to pack up their clothes and put the next size up in their drawers real soon (big plans take a long time for us to accomplish). We also have a big outing to the Dr. planned for later this week to see how much they weigh. Life is so full of love with them around, and I don't know what I would do without them. 

Pinterest Challenge Wrap-Up

The time has come to report on our pinterest challenge. I kind of took it easy this time around, mostly outfit, and recipe posts (because I have to eat and get dressed everyday). I was not ambitious enough to attempt any crafts that might take a bit more of a time commitment. 

And since you are all dying to see what I did, here goes...

I copied this outfit from this pin. It was a nice rainy day great for pulling out my boots and scarf again, and I was really happy with how it looked

I made churro french toast one Saturday morning from this pin. The 3 bosses informed me rather loudly that they had no intention of waiting for me to defrost some frozen cream cheese before they got their breakfast, so I just used leftover Easter frosting rather than cream cheese frosting. I also used my homemade bread rather than Hawaiian bread, and I thought everything turned out delicous. I also got a "this is fantastic" from the 2 year old, and you can't argue with that.

 So I am going  to brag a little!!! I made that dress!!! I actually made it after seeing this pin. When I saw the little sparrow print on the fabric, I knew I had to try it. You can't really see the whole dress, but it pretty much looks like the one in the pin, and I love it.

 Nothing special about this one, except the fact that gold polka dots make me really happy.

 Carson didn't want to get my feet in this one because he didn't want everyone to see all the dandilions that we are forever battling, but I will take any excuse to pull out my leopard print flats. 

These twix cookies were a bit hit. I have unsuccessfully tried to make shortbread before, but this recipe is a keeper. However you must beware of hungry 2 year olds who might fall in the cookies before the chocolate hardens.

I also made this yummy Slow Cooker Balsamic Shredded Beef. We had Dallen, Shaylee, and Morgan over to test it out, and those pigs ate it all before I could get a picture. Just kidding, I actually just forgot to take a picture, and it was probable my babes who ate the most, those three can really put it away. I thought the recipe was great, and a major step up from my usual boring roast. It was a tad sweet though, so I would probably use less brown sugar next time. 

 I used this pin to try out something fun with my nails. I am far from pro at doing nails, but even though mine don't look as amazing as the pin, I was still quite pleased with mine.

 I thought this Tomato Basil Parmesan soup was great. I just threw the carrots, celery, and tomatoes in the blender to chop them and it was easy peesy. I had to hurry and get this recipe in before the end of April because my husband treats soup like rabbit hunting, we are only allowed to have it in months that have the letter R in them. I realize that summer does not scream 'please feed me hot liquid,' but it sure is easy to throw together sometimes. I have already cheated though and made stew on May 1st. 

 I am a bit embarassed to put my picture up next to this girl, or maybe this is a life size Barbie doll, I'm not sure, either way she is way prettier than me. Anyway I loved this hairstyle instantly when I saw it, and even though it looked a little intimidating, I wanted to try it. While I was attempting it Kynlee told me, "Don't braid your hair Momma, there's too much of it." Kynlee you might be right! While it wasn't easy, it wasn't as hard as it looks, but unfortunately the top part slid out in a matter of minutes, and I was left with a side fish tail braid for the day.

 Every year we make a Birthday cake for my Mom's birthday, she would have been 64 this year, and since we always make a chocolate cake I know she would approve of the tradition. I though that this recipe was a from scratch recipe, but by the time that I saw that it called for a cake mix, my babes were already napping and Kynlee and I were ready to make a cake. There was no turning back at that point, and I didn't want to waste time looking for another recipe, so I reluctantly got out a cake mix and made this cake. It was good, but I am still looking for that amazing from scratch chocolate cake recipe.

I hope everyone else had a great time doing their pins, assuming anyone else did it with us, which you all should because it is lots of fun. And I am living proof that it is as easy as just getting dressed, and cooking dinner, which most of us do everyday. Happy Pinning!!!

Happy Easter!

We had a very fun Easter weekend. We dyed Easter Eggs with Morgan, Dallen, and Shaylee. Kynlee thought it was fun to put an egg in each of the dye cups and just leave them.

We hunted candy that Grandma Sue hid in the back yard.

It makes me ridiculously happy that I can dress my girls up in matching outfits.

We watched lots of conference. Although I have to admit I used to get a lot more out of conference before I had 3 eight month olds crawling around. We printed out conference bingo sheets that were fun for Kynlee. And since the theme of the womens session was family (the only session I got to watch uninterrupted), I will just smile and enjoy my little distractions. 

And of course we hit our Easter Eggs with a baseball bat at the end of the day. 

Morgan sure looks like a professional Easter Egg hitter.

The next day Kynlee was playing in the yard, and then she came to me in tears holding half of one of the eggs that she decorated. Apparently she is not a fan of my Mom's egg disposal tradition. Too bad Kynlee, it is one of my favorites so it is not going to stop any time soon.

8 Months

My little babes turned 8 months old on Easter Sunday. They are so cute, and I wish they would stop growing up so fast. 

Little Em is a such a sweet girl. She is her big sister's favorite, which sometimes does not fare so well for the boys. She mostly scoots backwards but she can crawl forward if she is really motivated. Her brothers are starting to get hair, but poor Em is as bald as ever. She has cute chunky thighs that she will be cursing me for later in life. She loves to eat pretty much anything, and she loves to kick her legs all the time. She is the only one who can sit up on her own. We love her so much.

 B-Bop is such a handsome boy. He has crawled forward a few times, but he mostly only goes backwards. If I try to motivate him to go forward for something by putting it just out of his reach he gets really frustrated and cries. Sometimes I can tell he is trying really hard to go forward, but it is a 1 step forward 2 steps back process, poor guy. He has also started to become a picky eater, and he refuses most baby food now. I don't really blame him, real food is way better. We love him so much.

Korbster is on the move. He started army crawling about 3 weeks ago if I put food in front of him. Now he is a full on explorer. This little guy will follow his big sister around the room all day to see what she is doing, unfortunately he is not her "best friend" like Emery, so she moves every time he gets close, poor guy. He loves to eat anything, and he is a big cheeser if anyone is around. We love him so much.

On the move!!

We did it!!!

Megan and I ran 13.1 miles on Saturday in the Canyonlands half Marathon. Now that it is over I am glad that I did it, but during those last 2 miles I was really wondering why I was willingly torturing myself. I beat my goal time of 2 hours finishing just under 1 hour and 56 minutes. 

We did the half marathon for the first time 5 years ago, way back before either of us had any kids.

This time I think Megan must have called me while I was in the hospital over the summer pregnant with triplets and asked if I wanted to run it again with her. At the time I would have done anything to get out of that bed, and the thought of doing something to lose all that baby weight appealed to me so it probably wasn't too hard to talk me into doing it. I seriously doubt it will be that easy to talk me into doing one again for the following reasons:

• It was really hard!!!!
• Training with 4 kids was not easy
• Training for long distance takes a bit of a time commitment
• Taking care of kids with sore legs the day after a long run is not ideal
• Some days I just could not get a workout in, so I was not as in shape as I would have liked to have been
• There is a really big hill at mile 10 that I am still feeling
• Oh and did I mention it was really hard

I honestly have no idea how people run full marathons because a half marathon is as far as I ever want to go.

  

During the race, I felt like I would never finish...

But I did!!! 

I knew there were 4 cuties waiting for me at the finish line, and the best husband in the world cheering me on. Even though those last 2 miles felt like they took hours, I kept on running. The faster you go the sooner the pain ends right?

When all is said and done I really am glad I did it.

And you know what...

I would do it again!

My cute kids!!

Did you know that before I had kids I was a pretty capable person. Now I do everything WRONG. Just ask my 2 year old. To make matters worse, the few things that I am actually still capable of doing right during the day I am suddenly no longer capable of doing once Daddy gets home. And I have been assured by more experienced mothers that it will be this way for the rest of my life. Ok that might be an exaggeration, but that is how it seems. Oh well at least I have to cutest kids in the world. 

Before I became a Mom I expected certain things from motherhood. You know the usual things like long nights with crying babes, messy floors, sticky chairs and fingers, spit up, lots of poopy diapers, ect...

I did not expect the door mat to get moved every time I put it back in front of the door, and I certainly did not expect it to end up in one of the babies cribs with a stuffed animal rolled up in it. Why yes that does make a mess of the sheets, thanks for asking. 

Let's just say that motherhood is full of unexpected surprises. Most of them I can laugh about, like when I find individual goldfish crackers in all of my pots and pans, or when I find a stuffed horse snacking on a pile of bannana chips.

Other surpises fill my heart like when I catch Kynlee giving a babe a hug, or when the babes hold hands while they play. 

I have come to expect the happy grins the babes give in the morning when I get them out of their crib, even though I know it is coming, it melts my heart every time. 

I love being a mom, even if I forget at times, and life would be quite boring without the fun surprises my cute kids bring.   

And while I do wish certain things like the door mat would stay put, I am glad to have fun little surprises that take me back to the simple joys and curiosity of being a kid. 

Oh and did I mention I have the cutest kids in the world?
